Heal with Hapé Medicine

  • What is Hapé?

Hapé (pronounced ha-PAY) is a sacred shamanic snuff medicine made from a finely ground blend of Amazonian tobacco (Mapacho) and other medicinal plants. This medicine is not recreational, it is a prayer. A portal. A sacred breath of the forest spirit offered to human hands by the wisdom keepers of the Amazon.

For thousands of years, Hapé has been used ceremonially by indigenous tribes such as the Yawanawá, Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá), Katukina, and Nukini peoples of Brazil and Peru. Each tribe carries its own unique preparation style, prayer lineage, and purpose for the blends; some used for spiritual protection, others for clarity, grounding, or visionary insight. In their traditions, the medicine is administered with respect, reverence, and intention, often by a pajé (shaman) or practitioner trained in its use.

Hapé is most often administered through the nose using a Tepi (when shared by a facilitator) or a Kuripe (when self-applied). The sacred blow is not violent…it is precise, intentional, and filled with the spirit of the forest. The medicine clears stagnant energy, brings the brain into harmony, rebalances the nervous system, opens the sinuses, and brings the user into deep presence with the Earth and Spirit.

Tobacco, in its pure Mapacho form, is considered a Master Plant Teacher in indigenous cosmology. It is used to cleanse, protect, and call in divine guidance. When combined with other healing plants such as Tsunu, Murici, Cacao, or Pau Pereira, the blend becomes a powerful vibrational ally for healing, prayer, and remembrance.

When received with respect and guidance, Hapé can support emotional clearing, grounding during times of transition, nervous system regulation, and a deeper connection to one's inner landscape. Each experience is unique, and the medicine meets the individual where they are

HAPÉ MEDICINE OFFERINGS

  • One-on-One Hapé Medicine Facilitation

    $150 | Private Session

A one-on-one Hapé session is a private, individualized experience held on sacred ground. This offering is designed for those who want a deeply personal, supported introduction to the medicine or an intentional space to work with it more intimately.

Each session begins with a gentle arrival into the space. We start with a smoke clearing (smudging) and an herbal tea to help settle the nervous system and create grounding. We then take time to talk through what to expect, answer any questions, and clarify your intention for working with Hapé.

The medicine is then facilitated in a calm, grounded manner. After receiving Hapé, you are given ample space to process, rest, and integrate comfortably. Every person responds differently, and the session moves at the pace your body and nervous system need.

Depending on the individual, additional support may be offered during the integration phase. This can include energetic rebalancing, grounding practices, or gentle herbal supports to help stabilize and settle the system.

Once the initial processing has completed, there is time to sit together with a grounding tea or cacao, reflect on the experience, ask questions, and discuss next steps for integration.

A typical one-on-one Hapé session lasts anywhere from 60 minutes to two hours or more, depending entirely on the individual and their process.

  • Group Hapé Medicine Circle

    $100 per person | 4–8 participants

Group Hapé circles are small, intentional gatherings held for a minimum of four and a maximum of eight participants. These circles offer the opportunity to work with the medicine in a shared, supportive container while still honoring each individual’s experience.

The group begins with a collective opening, including smoke clearing and herbal tea to ground the group and set intention. We discuss what to expect and create a calm, respectful space before the medicine is shared.

Hapé is then facilitated one person at a time. Each participant receives the medicine individually while the rest of the group holds a quiet, grounded presence. There is space for each person to process fully, without rushing or pressure.

As the facilitator, I move through the container throughout the circle, offering energetic rebalancing, grounding support, and gentle guidance as needed. Teas and herbs are used collectively to support regulation and integration.

While the experience is shared, each person’s process is respected as their own. Time is intentionally built in for individual processing as well as collective settling at the close of the circle.

Group Hapé circles typically last two to three hours, depending on the size of the group and the needs of the participants.

Meet The Facilitator

Ayla Morrow

Ayla Morrow carries Hapé medicine with deep reverence, humility, and responsibility. Before offering Hapé in any capacity, Ayla spent over a year in devoted study and relationship with the medicine. This time was rooted in listening, learning, and demonstrating the capacity to sit with Hapé in integrity. Her training took place within the Amazonian tradition, specifically through the lineage of the Huni Kuin people.

Being invited into this lineage is a privilege. Prior to carrying or sharing the medicine, Ayla sat directly with her teachers and was asked to show discernment, respect, and readiness for the responsibility Hapé carries. She received blessings through her teachers and their teachers, including a blessing from a Txuna, or Pajé, within the Huni Kuin tradition. This blessing is not a title, but a responsibility she holds with care.

Hapé is not offered casually. It is a living medicine that carries lineage, prayer, and ancestral memory. To facilitate it requires presence, restraint, and an ongoing relationship with the traditions that protect it.

Alongside this work, Ayla is an Oracle healer and ancestral medicine woman, deeply rooted in her Cherokee and Norse bloodlines. Her facilitation is informed by both ancient traditions and modern, trauma-informed understanding, with an emphasis on consent, pacing, and nervous system safety.

It is an honor for her to carry this medicine and to sit with others in its presence.

 FAQs

Where does the medicine come from?

The Hapé offered through this work comes directly from the Amazon and is sourced through Jaguar Whisper, a company stewarded by dear medicine people Amir and Lucia.

Jaguar Whisper works in ongoing relationship with Indigenous tribes of the Amazon, including the Huni Kuin people. The Hapé is prepared in its traditional form and blessed by elders within the lineage before it ever leaves the forest. This is not commercialized or mass-produced medicine. It is prepared with prayer, care, and respect, in alignment with the traditions that have carried it for generations.

Amir and Lucia are long-time devoted students of Indigenous medicines and traditions. For decades, they have walked alongside these lineages in humility and service, supporting ethical sourcing, elder compensation, and the preservation of sacred practices. Their role is not to reinterpret or modernize the medicine, but to protect its integrity as it is shared beyond the Amazon.

The Hapé used in these sessions comes directly from the Huni Kuin and is blessed by their elders. It carries the prayers, songs, and ancestral knowledge of the people who make it by hand. This lineage connection matters. It is what ensures that the medicine is alive, respected, and held in right relationship.

This is why sourcing is named here. When working with sacred medicines, how they are carried is just as important as how they are received.
