Every culture throughout history has looked to the natural world for nourishment, healing, and wisdom. Our ancestors learned by observing the seasons, tending the soil, and listening closely to the gifts each plant offered. Herbalism has always been rooted in relationship; relationship with the Earth, with our bodies, and with the quiet understanding that healing often begins with returning to what has always been here.
The Apothecary Codex is an invitation to remember.
This ongoing educational series is designed to explore the foundations of herbal medicine one gathering at a time. Each Codex will guide us into a different preparation, allowing us to build both our knowledge and our home apothecaries slowly, intentionally, and with reverence for the traditions that have been passed from one generation to the next.
We begin where many herbal journeys begin.
With oils.
A thoughtfully infused herbal oil becomes the foundation for some of the most beloved preparations in the home apothecary. From supporting dry skin and everyday bumps and scrapes to nourishing tired muscles and caring for the people we love, these simple preparations have served families for generations.
During our afternoon together, we’ll spend time getting to know the herbs themselves. We’ll talk about their traditional uses, their unique personalities, and why certain plants are chosen for different preparations. You’ll learn both traditional cold infusions and hot oil extraction methods, discover how to choose carrier oils with intention, and understand how beautifully infused oils become nourishing herbal salves.
We’ll gather around the table with warm herbal tea, work with our hands, ask questions, share stories, and create medicine together.
There is no rush here.
Good medicine rarely asks us to hurry.

Future Codices will continue exploring herbal preparations such as tinctures, glycerites, oxymels, fire cider, botanical body care, seasonal remedies, tea formulation, and the timeless practice of creating medicine with the plants that surround us.
Each gathering becomes another chapter in your Apothecary Codex.

Your investment includes three hours of immersive, hands-on instruction, every herb and supply needed for the workshop, lifetime access to the online course following its release, herbal tea throughout the afternoon, and all of the handcrafted medicines you’ll create to take home with you.
